It is. I already explained I don't mean in terms of just quality. I liked "The Dark Knight", "Black Panther", "The Winter Soldier", "Logan"....a couple more movies better. Objectively they're higher quality over all than this.

But as far as what they accomplished....in terms of bringing a comic book saga to life....this is the GOAT. 30 years ago you would've told me we'd be seeing the climax of this movie on the big screen in 2019 I would've thought you were insane. Yet here we are.

Fred.
Agreed sans Black Panther. I loved it, but IW and EG are so much bigger in scope, as well as having way better CGI and fight scenes, I give it the nod.

I can't wait til Sunday. I'm so excited to see the movie. I usually love to see spoilers but I wanna walk in ignorant to this film. I wanna be surprised for once lol.

I see some cats on here (and in real life) saying AOU wasn't good. I actually enjoyed it quite thoroughly. It's honestly one of my favorite Marvel MCU films.
I'm curious as to why folks don't particularly like it? It had good action, even a bit cheesy. Klaue was hilarious and Ultron was too lol...

IDK maybe I'm weird but a bunch of folks hate that one. I liked AOU a tad bit more than Avengers 1.

You brought up Nolan's filmography, which is random as fukk unless we're talking about films comparable to this within it. Meaning, his Batman trilogy. Which he ended poorly.

Let's keep it real here. :manny:

Fred.
Well people on here are always complaining about his exposition but won't say a word when 90 min of this was exposition and pretty poor at that :thanos:

From the spoiler thread...

I felt this was a good movie on its own merits, but the complete abandonment of the source material, (REDACTED), and anything involving Captain Marvel bothered me. I give it a 7. If I never read the comics it would be a very strong 9.

The last act is truly legendary:wow:

Adaptions don't and probably never should follow their source material too close to the letter. Makes it too predictable.

What was done here was phenomenal tho and I'm quite the avid comic book reader and thoroughly enjoyed what was done here.

This is a discussion for the spoiler thread, but really, the way it was done here was inferior to the comic. And I disagree with your first point. Sin City was a panel for panel adaptation in some parts and it worked. I don't expect that level of faithfulness, but besides character limitations, most of the story reworkings in the MCU are fixing things that aren't broken.

This is the hottest of hot takes.

Bruce Wayne, one of the most recognizable people in the world, faking his own death to "retire" then popping up at the end in a public restaurant like :youngsabo: is WOAT level writing.

I won't even get into what they did to Bane. Turned one of the greatest DC villains of all time into Ralph Tresvant. :wow:

Fred.
Put some respect on Ralph Tresvant name

I don't wanna see another movie. movies are done. how can any movie rival that? it's over.
That's the one thing I was thinking walking home last night

How can I take future comic book movies seriously now? Even the MCU ones?

Like...where do we go from here? X-Men obviously but...how??

I mean...we know how now...but...HOW??

I got the tip that about an hour in there are a couple scenes you can bounce on if you gotta piss. One of them is people eating lunch together and the other is two people who seem to be romantically involved having a conversation. I was told you'll know the moments when you see them.

not really spoilers, but i'll black it out
cosmic. F4 leading to Doom and Galactus... but even that would have to be done nearly perfect and it will take 5-10 years at the earliest. they just fukked up event movies. this was the biggest ever. Star Wars Episode 9 won't be 1/4 of this. No one else is even in the ballpark, so we're basically just banking on the MCU somehow rivaling themself, or some other new universe type shyt to come out and own the planet.
