ARROW: FELICITY ORIGIN EPISODE NO LONGER CALLED "ORACLE"
Maybe we won't get that Birds of Prey tribute episode after all....

The upcoming Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) origin episode of Arrow has gotten its name changed from "Oracle" to "The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak."
It'll be interesting to see why the Arrow producers originally named the episode "Oracle," and we wonder if we'll hear a reference to the nickname -- the moniker of the comics' wheelchair-bound Barbara Gordon -- during the Felicity-centric episode. Rest easy, Birds of Prey fans!
According The Hollywood Reporter, the episode will introduce Felicity's mother (played by Drive Angry's Charlotte Ross), who executive Marc Guggenheim confirms is a cocktail waitress in Vegas. “She and Felicity are two very different people," says Guggenheim, "Episode 5, which is when Felicity’s mom comes to town, really deals with the differences between these two women and how much of their relationship is a struggle as a result."
Guggenheim goes on to describe their dynamic as a "challenge," since both characters have a difficulty finding common ground -- and considering Felicity's fate as an IT-wiz, we can only imagine what her cocktail waitress mother is like!
On Felicity's dad, Guggenheim teases, “The mystery of who Felicity’s dad is probably gets extended more than it gets answered."
Arrow: Season 3 premieres October 8 at 8pm ET on The CW.
