This doesn't feel like a series finale.

Just finished watching. During the commercials they mentioned a special announcement at NYCC this weekend, so it wouldn't surprise me if there are plans for an animated movie, maybe straight to DVD/streaming like Venture Bros had recently. Or maybe a series of them.

They did treat this episode like another mission, which I'm not that opposed to in general. Except for the bit at the very end.

Fabian's lisp is hella annoying though :gucci:

Archers globetrotting adventures aren’t done after all: FXX has ordered a new three-part finale for the animated spy comedy, just two days after what was billed as its series finale. The new finale, titled Archer: Into the Cold, will air Sunday, Dec. 17 at 10/9c on FX as well as FXX, and will stream the next day on Hulu.
The news was announced at the Archer panel at New York Comic Con on Friday, which had teased “a very special announcement” to come.
Archer, with H. Jon Benjamin voicing the titular spy, aired for a total of 14 seasons, debuting on FX in 2009 and then moving to FXX in 2017. The voice cast also included Aisha Tyler as Lana, Chris Parnell as Cyril, Judy Greer as Cheryl, series creator Adam Reed as Ray, Amber Nash as Pam and Lucky Yates as Dr. Krieger. Jessica Walter voiced the role of Archer’s mother Malory until her death in 2021.

Wednesday’s “series finale” ended with the spy agency getting the news that the UN had declared all private spy agencies illegal and ordering them shut down within 30 days

I’m really hoping we see them follow the Southpark/Venture bros animation model of movies/miniseries. It’s a great way to cater to a dedicated fanbase while putting less stress on the creatives.

Nah, let it die, Archer lives in the bubble of the spy world and it’s really just become derivative of itself.

South Park is always pulling from the real world so it’s able to feel fresh and how they react. Archer by its premise can’t do that.
