Full disclosure, I wasn't too hot on them changing the show's focus. As much as I liked S4, I still thought they deviated too far from the OG premise that got me hooked onto the show with the outside missions like the Sealab joint.
With this new season and the coke selling, I feel that they didn't do anything with it. The same with Cherlene's country music career. I feel that they are still in the "idea" phase because nothing of note has come from the changes. There were two episodes early in the season that were in the mansion back to back. That was some bullshyt. They gutted Lana's character. Kreiger has more involvement and is less funny. Same for Pam, Cheryl, Ray and Cyril. Archer is barely a shell of himself.
Now the creator is talking about going back and I honestly hope it's not reluctantly done. If it is, that may spell the end for this show. I understand wanting to do something different but as a whole, it's just not there. Where is the magic? You know what, scratch that. Where's the funny? That has been suspiciously absent this whole season save a few laughs here and there and the occasional funny episode.
