Oda can really write a heart-wrenching backstory. I don't know how he does it, but he keeps one upping himself. Rosinante's was my favorite until Oden and now Kuma.

I felt a certain way seeing all these flashbacks covering the previous islands that Luffy went through pre-timeskip 
I’m just glad One Piece is getting more respect put on its name after the Netflix show, the Macy’s balloon, and all of the records it’s broken these last few years.

Kuma is fukking top 5 for me.
I’m hoping Vegapunk inserted some program to reset it.

I vaguely remember Lillith talking about the cyborg animals, and how they can't be 100% controlled because sometimes instincts kick in. I'd really like to find that, because I'm hoping/praying that the next hype moment will be when all the programming in the world can't stop Kuma from protecting Bonney because of instincts like that.
It's a shot in the dark though...this chapter felt like a really clear "it's done" for Kuma. Saturn even mentioned he'd recognize any failsafe or switch.
I am starting to think that just like the pain, if his memory isn't taken by anyone, it goes back to the original person it belong to. Because he is definitely looking for Bonney who he isn't supposed to know.
