This is giving me hope the right people can get Dragon Ball right
I think the trick is for producers and writers to understand the things they’re adapting had an audience before and without them and to respect the source material, some shyt is not meant to be grounded in reality. Another thing is I like that they’re taking this goofy world seriously without having to point out how goofy and weird things are.People saying this Netflix shyt is actually good
If so that's crazy, One Piece is the LAST manga I would expect to translate to live-action. It just seems too fantastical and it seems like a lot of stuff would just look silly in live action. Haven't watched it yet but I have a three day weekend so I'll probably marathon it.
Lets get the anime back 1stThis is giving me hope the right people can get Dragon Ball right
Right, that's what fukked up Cowboy Bebop - while the visuals tried to pay respect to the original (and fell flat), the script felt like it was ashamed of the source material and was constantly winking at the audience.I think the trick is for producers and writers to understand the things they’re adapting had an audience before and without them and to respect the source material, some shyt is not meant to be grounded in reality. Saw eps one. Don't remember Kung fu Nami but I guess they had to for American audiences
Miss the part where she faked being stranded to steal a ship or flirting with the soldier to steal his uniform? That was off to me too and I found watching the first three episodes that they missed out on some of the core aspects of the character or the heart of many of the stories. Nami being clever and finessing her way into her money is big aspect of her character and demonstrates which she brings to the crew as she isn’t a traditional fighter

Nami was always strong enough to take down fodder she's just not messing with actual fighters until much later.
