I was expecting the cartoon sounds cuz i read the manga but i was still suprised by the execution

But they was on bs re running that same animation of luffy bouncing around

Episode was so underwhelming running same scene and dragging shyt out
I’ll wait for next week get a better sense of how it is

The hyping of this episode was a disservice because if it just dropped like everything else, it would have been able to breathe. Instead you have a break and a hype video for a transformation that sets a high bar and you're not going to meet that with recycled sequences and reactions from side characters with actual actions in the last 3 minutes.

They adapted the chapter damn near faithfully and manga readers know the real fight starts on the next episode, garbage pacing is why the ep was underwhelming

Some parts of the episode were good but others were messy. I didn't understand a thing when Luffy reflected Kaido's boro breath because the camera angles were all over the place, despite the fact that I read the manga.

I thought it had too many cuts which made everything hard to read. I also feel like they shouldn't have detoured to Orochi and Hiyori for a chunk of time, but I'm guessing the real fight will start next episode and hopefully take it up a notch.

I still think it was pretty good, but Zoro vs King and episode 1015 were both better IMO. Though, to be fair, the anime-only heads I've talked to were all pretty hype about the episode.

That’s how it went in the manga. But as people have already stated, the pacing is just ass. I got a better “chills” feeling reading the manga back when g5 dropped. Dope event.

Looks like next ep is gonna go all in. They reused some animations and added an ending for the first time since I was like in high school lol.

Otherwise thought it was faithful to the Manga. Felt like a kid again watching Popeye, Bugs, and Road Runner get the upper hand.

So glad Oda decided to make Luffy's power up different instead of super powered aura with mean eyebrows #347654989.
