I stopped watching one piece when I was a kid because I didn't like the animation style.

Went back and read up on the story. It's amazing, I love how big the 1P universe is.

I read manga and watch anime, but the hype leading up to Gear 5 didn't do justice. The design looks sick, how my boy explained it to me made me go oh shyt

But nah, it's probably because I'm not a 1P fan like that

Looks like next ep is gonna go all in. They reused some animations and added an ending for the first time since I was like in high school lol.

Otherwise thought it was faithful to the Manga. Felt like a kid again watching Popeye, Bugs, and Road Runner get the upper hand.

So glad Oda decided to make Luffy's power up different instead of super powered aura with mean eyebrows #347654989.

They gotta get some new directors over there. The best directed episode they have had in what seems like forever was the one where they took out Big Mom and it was done by some white guy, not in house.

They played that one hoppy sequence like 3 times and it was long as fukk. I thought I had mistakenly rewound the episode.

For some reason they think adding smoke, rocks, and energy everywhere makes things better. This is OP not DBZ, just animate the source material smoothly.
