Luffy went into Gear 5 off the bat! I think it was for story reasons mostly, but overall this was a fire chapter. I wonder where Oda is going with this. Will they leave before Kizaru gets there? We still gotta see what's up with Law and Blackbeard as well.

Kaido seemed knowledgeable about awakening though, and we had previous antagonists like doflamingo and katakuri being awakened, it's surprising that the "strongest creature" hasn't awakened his zoan all this time when Lucci did in 2 years . Unless Kaido can't for whatever reason.

Yeah his form definitely is cool. But it definitely brings up more questions. Like why no one in the Beast pirates had an awakened form. Not even Kaido. I think Oda needs to establish some clear guidelines on what's awakened and whats not. So seeing this makes me believe that Kaido wasn't even at his max strength unless that lava form was his awakened state

It's about time Luffy takes down an Admiral. Egghead is going to be the opposite of Sabaody Archipelago. Sentomaru is there and Kizaru is on the way.

It's interesting because they haven't seen each since before the time skip. Now that they can actually fight against Logia users with Haki it should make for a good fight. I wonder if Zoro would try to take him on since Kizaru almost ended him at Sabaody.

That'd be a nice way for Luffy to parallel his mentor Rayleigh too. I'd love for a mirror panel of Rayleigh and Kizaru's kicks with Luffy in Rayleigh's place.
