watching the dessarossa arc now,
to me, it doesnt really feel like Luffy 'defeated' mingo, more so, plot no jutsu. mingo had luffy dead to rights like 10 times plus that king kong gun attack didnt feel very satisfying. that 16 holy bullets attack stopped the kong gun dead in its tracks. this fight was suchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh a mismatch. hate to say it, other than mingo, dressrosa kinda felt like thriller bark all over again,

Nah, in the end Luffy beat him.
You could argue that Luffy had a lot of help from Law, but by the same token Doffy had a lot of help from Bellamy and Trebol and Luffy had already been fighting all day. But I agree there was a lot of plot slowing things down, Luffy should've used Gear 4th way earlier than he did. Had he used Gear 4th while Law was still in the fight, Law could've easily finished Doflamingo afterwards.
He did not have a "clear believable victory" against Lucci or Croc.
