i was listening to Russo on the wrestlinginc podcast a few weeks back and he wanted AJ to tone it down just alil like you been there for a few months now you don't have to try and prove you belong

AJ's been the same guy his entire career and has never had injury problems
He tones it way down on house shows and minor tv matches like he should, but otherwise that man is there to put on a show.And there's a big difference between proving you belong, and proving you belong on top. A part of that will be proving he can outwork anynone, and he can do it day in and out.
The day AJ tones down is when I stop rating him. One of his best qualities is his work ethic and intensity, why would you want that gone. He does Yoga, and is in pretty great condition considering his age. People took one little report that he was nursing a sore back during his NJPW run and now he permanently has a bad back, lmao.
aj killing it as a heel. His facial expressions be super on point, mic work superb, ring work top notch. Hope he gets a title reign before the year is over.
If you listen to Dave's review of payback he was really concerned for AJ. He kept talking about how AJ was killing himself with how hard he was bumping. He's so much better than everyone else on the roster, he doesn't need to go so hard all the time. For PPV main events and big PPV matches yes, but I hope he doesn't he can think he can sustain working this hard all year long.
AJ used to be able to go twice as hard in early TNA days. He is one of the smartest guys when it comes to knowing how to land, and how to sell after you land to make it look better. Aside from the odd spills to the outside, he's not doing anything he shouldn't at this point. People aren't used to a guy like that in WWE. Mix that with him being small, so it looks like he's getting wrecked when slammed by big guys like Reigns and Cena... Dave is just caping and overreacting. AJs transformed his style in his older age to work safer (despite never suffering any major injuries), he knows how to listen to his body.
