Man listen this is the part we gotta hold our nuts. We got no friends. Stop looking for them. Im in 100% and I'm riding. Aint looking for no handshakes.
I know this post gonna piss off my fellow ADOS. But @Kitsch looking over that vid I finally get your concern. Because while I "get" what tone was trying to say the way he FRAMED it was NOT good. @IllmaticDelta framed it better than him. So yea while I did come off aggressive I kinda got your concern @Kitsch
Tone Talk NEEDS to chill out cuz now its gonna spread like wild fire to casuals. This is why I prefer Yvette over him.
pointing out that the historical "poc" coalition was and always will be bullshyt isn't resentment, and it's really not even the main point. The main point is that we as ADOS are different and have our own unique history in the Western paradigm. I don't know we you keep beating this "we're all in this together " dead horse when we're clearly NOT "in it" all together. Groups and people are in it to further their own respective self interest. And now that ADOS is FINALLY waking up and advocating the same the same groups that are and profited off our struggles are entering defcon 5. Very tellingI wanna look at this from a different perspective and I'm genuinely interested in hearing y'alls opinion. Not to debate, just clarity on a diff viewpoint Native Americans:
For comparison, Native Americans sold Manhattan island for roughly $1100 in today's dollars. That sale was profoundly influential in the increase of the slave trade. No Manhattan, no Wall Street-- No Wall Street, No slave auctions-- No slave auctions, No NYC/Global city that we know today. On the same coin, Natives accepted blankets covered in smallpox, etc. What they saw as a 'good deal' led to their own demise. I'm sure there's similar cases in India and elsewhere and the perpetrator remains the same.
We're all victims in one form or another, and our victimhood often has overlap upon further inspection. Why do we place resentment on each other when the perpetrators got over on the entire global south?
breh I've read time and time again how when ADOS return "home" the people native to those countries see us as just another westerner. We may all be considered black, but that doesn’t mean we’ll mesh well culturally. I’ve heard all types of black people say they have a preference for their own nationality or ethnic group.
I think there are instances when a Black American can have more in common with white Americans than with some Africans. Really depends on how long they’ve been here or how much they cling to their culture.
There's a distinct difference between advocating for our people and villainizing non ADOS blacks because we have differences. I don't know where this notion that it's only "now" that we're looking out for each other started. Supporting black owned businesses and entrepreneurship has been heavy for a few years now, and non ADOS were never a part of the discussion.pointing out that the historical "poc" coalition was and always will be bullshyt isn't resentment, and it's really not even the main point. I'm not here for your projecting and straw men and quite frankly I don't even know why you're in this threadThere's a distinct difference between advocating for our people and villainizing non ADOS blacks because we have differences.
