Non-Southern brehs and brehettes is this accurate?
greatmigration_geography_chart1.jpg

Accurate for me. But, I think it's accurate overall.

Family from both sides from Alabama -- And the family who didn't stay in Alabama -- left during the Great Migration and settled in Michigan. Most of us are in Michigan -- but some went to Chicago and New Jersey.

Both. I am from the Midwest -- and we are deep -- with lots of history via the Great Migration. We need Detriot, Chicago, Flint, Cleveland, Cincinnati, etc.

Yeah we have history in the midwest...but we're screwed there in the longrun :yeshrug:
A bunch of decay industrial towns in landlocked lily white states. Nah..we don't need the midwest.

The northwest we never had the numbers.
The southwest, the mexicans got that on lock.
Hell the west coast in general is toast for black folk.
The northeast is in the process of becoming toast.

Which just leaves the south, where we have the numbers.
The south is the only part of the country we could take over.

An article from Paul Sowers. I believe he was at the ADOS conference.

Warp Speed: #ADOS and the New Genre of ‘Criticism’ as Careerism

Of all the many, many mischaracterizations of the #ADOS movement that Hubert Adjei-Kontoh indiscriminately fires off in his recent article, this one really explores new heights of stupidity…

#ADOS has managed to synthesize the black left-wing critique of America’s origins with a right-wing belief in the inherent superiority of those who were born in America. What the movement draws from the former is a simplified argument that black people and only black people were exploited to produce the wealth of the United States, and what they draw from the latter is that this makes them and other descendants of slaves the true inheritors of American wealth.

One almost doesn’t even know where to begin.

Y’all done dropped the migration maps in here :wow:
I’m having a drink with my pop and we talking the ancestors. My great great great grandpa, R. Hairston, was a slave on the Hairston plantation in Lowndes County, MS. Once released, he earned $40 and traveled up to NC, buying a bunch of land in NC. Land that we still own today. Had a white man buy the land for him, since he couldn’t. The fact that the white man didn’t jip him out his money is amazing in itself. Well, me and my pop was named after my ancestor. We’re going to hit up the Hairston family reunion next year

I think all these AA’s who are ashamed of their American past, don’t wanna claim the America in them, or have dreams of leaving, need to go ahead and make arrangements to finally make that move.

Those who don’t care about reparations, or don’t believe we’ll ever get them, need to be quiet and step out the way, because we’re going to get it and fight for what is owed.

We’re in the beginning stages of an AA renaissance. We’re going to bring pride back in being AA, and fight for what is owed to us by our country. No more of that lost puppy, “we don’t have no culture” bullshxt. Fug that. American culture is our culture, and it’s som we should take pride in. We are not lost, and our ancestors created something beautiful right here in this country. We don’t need to run away from that.

I agree and I'm not trying to start a fight but I think Pan-African ideology has a lot to do with that because much of it centers on disassociating ourselves from the U.S. and revering all things African. While I think those who pioneered the ideology had the best intentions it really just added to that lost feeling we had because we can study and admire African cultures, societies, people etc but when it comes down to it we are very detached from those things. We don't really have that strong of a connection to it so you are stuck in limbo trying to decide how to navigate.
