This O's pitching staff

:francis:
None of the youngins are hitting either. Rutschman's been ass again, Gunnar's struggling, Westburg's been ass and so has Holliday.

They need a vet who can still play on that team.

Unlikely.
Riley is signed through 2032.

Acuña is signed through 2026. I suppose if he looks bad and the right deal came along he could be flipped before he hit free agency.

Schwellenbach, Strider and Smith-Shawver figure to be the future of the rotation.

Sale, Albies, and Ozuna would be gone if this season completely fell apart. At least I would imagine they’d entertain offers.

problem is that Riley, like most Braves makes $26 an hour, so they'll ask for the sun moon and stars in return.

Well, my reasoning is because of Riley's contract, he's their best asset in the field. Atlanta doesn't spend big in free agency so if they look around and think they need to reset, Detroit could restock their farm.

He's had hot streaks before, though never at the start of the season. The talent has never been the question and he's always had a good eye.

If he's still doing this by the All-Star break, I'll begin to believe. It changes the entire outlook of the Tigers if this is real.

I loved his profile coming up. So seeing him on this recent spree. I'm thinking oh shyt is he turning that corner.

He hit 16 home runs the final two months of 2023 and every Tigers fan started to believe. Then he wound up in the minors last season. :unimpressed:

Spencer is here to stay and I'm proud. He went through it last year and made adjustments in the offseason.

He was too wide at the plate last year. He's narrowed his stance now he's more athletic getting the bat threw the zone. Last year he'd pop up those fastballs. Now he's crushing them

It’s interesting. I saw something the other day that said Fernando Tatis Jr also has a narrower stance than in the past.

I’m not sure if it helps their timing or maybe it keeps them from drifting forward and losing power. But it seems like a trend among some hitters.
