Basically the Olympics dropped it years ago because MLB refused to let pros participate, Japan lobbied to bring it back for Tokyo but France decided they’d rather have breakdancing & rock climbing. Baseball & softball will be back in 2028

Hey a question why is there no baseball in Olympics?

They dropped it years ago in favor of events with “more global appeal”. But really I think they were tired of softball dominance and since the IOC requires a female equivalent of almost every event it was dropped.

Host countries can choose a couple events they want included so Japan brought it back and they’ll bring it back in 2028 but there’s no telling if it will ever be permanent again.
