US is falling off, Japan is ahead of them in total count right now.

You have to remember Japan invested heavily for the olympics in tokyo, and those athletes are still young so its still carrying over.

US will kill it at the next olympics when they pump more money into their athletes. They have ten more medals now than they did after day 4 in japan last olympics And the same amount of golds.

PLus there is so much competition in swimming nowadays. back in the days I just remember it was usa and australia, example in 2004 us and australia won 60% of the swimming events dem old ian thorpedo days,. There has been 15 gold medals given out in swimming so far and 10 different countries have won one.

Ian thorpe! The USA, Australia, Canada and the UK were doing crazy things! I think MacNeil stepped out of the event for Canada.
