If this guy had played in pretty much any other era, he'd be a Hall of Famer.
Moises Alou
I'm not saying it's a crime that Moises isn't in.
But when people try to decide what the line is between HOFer and NOT HOFer, Moises Alou is what comes to mind.
He had issues staying healthy but when he did play he was pretty dang good.
By the way, Alou finished 2nd in NL ROY voting in 1992. Talk about a solid class that year. Other MLB rookies that year included Mark Wohlers, Eric Karros, Tim Wakefield, Reggie Sanders, and Kenny Lofton.
I don't know that Griffey would have hit as many HR as Aaron or Bonds.Trouts injuries remind me so much of Griffey. Just two dudes that were already HOF bound All Time Greats. And to think they were likely even better than that, but the injuries sapped them of that greatness.
His teams actually went to the playoffs 11/17 years.About Kenny Lofton,
I don't think he was a Hall of Fame player. But I do think he deserved more consideration.
This dude could hit and he OPSed .794 across 17 years.
That's not nothing. A guy who gets on base and hits for average is extremely valuable in the right lineup. It's just a shame he wasn't on a lot of great teams except for a couple of years with the Indians.
You put that guy on the right team and he might score 125-140 runs a year. That's crazy.
