17 seasons
.303/.369/.516
2,134 Hits
332 HR
421 Doubles
1,109 Runs scored
.885 OPS

If this guy had played in pretty much any other era, he'd be a Hall of Famer.
Moises Alou

😕

I'm not saying it's a crime that Moises isn't in.
But when people try to decide what the line is between HOFer and NOT HOFer, Moises Alou is what comes to mind.
He had issues staying healthy but when he did play he was pretty dang good.

By the way, Alou finished 2nd in NL ROY voting in 1992. Talk about a solid class that year. Other MLB rookies that year included Mark Wohlers, Eric Karros, Tim Wakefield, Reggie Sanders, and Kenny Lofton.
I think Kenny got hosed in his first year on the ballot. He deserved more time

Kenny
17 Seasons
.299/.372/.423
2,428 Hits
130 HR
383 Doubles
116 Triples
1528 Runs
781 RBIs
622 SBs
.794 OPS

Add in he was a key contributor to a Post Season team almost every year of his career, 4 gold gloves. The dude deserved way more than 1 crack at the Hall.

Trouts injuries remind me so much of Griffey. Just two dudes that were already HOF bound All Time Greats. And to think they were likely even better than that, but the injuries sapped them of that greatness.

I don't know that Griffey would have hit as many HR as Aaron or Bonds.
But I have no doubt he would have broken 700 had he been a little more healthy.

And if the Yankees had been more respectful to Griffey Sr and Jr when they were young, there's the possibility Jr considers signing with them in free agency. And in that scenario, as a lefty in Yankee Stadium....who knows how many HR Jr would have hit.

About Kenny Lofton,

I don't think he was a Hall of Fame player. But I do think he deserved more consideration.
This dude could hit and he OPSed .794 across 17 years.

That's not nothing. A guy who gets on base and hits for average is extremely valuable in the right lineup. It's just a shame he wasn't on a lot of great teams except for a couple of years with the Indians.

You put that guy on the right team and he might score 125-140 runs a year. That's crazy.

His teams actually went to the playoffs 11/17 years.

His post season numbers aren't great and that might be what tainted him even more. But, he really didn't deserve to go out on the first time up. I can understand if he maxed out without going in, but I wouldn't turn my nose up if he had got in.

Postseason Slash is .247/.315/.352

Xander Bogaerts is hitting .217 right now and the Padres just acquired Luis Arraez.

Bogaerts is still owed a lot of money but this is not a good look.
