Mookie Betts is batting .391, 45 hits, 29 runs scored, 22 walks....these are the type of old school numbers that I like to see (none of that sabermetrics basura)
Plays every day, hustles, is a team leader, doesn't give away at-bats, plays defense...
Vlad is such a conundrum. He clearly has an elite hitting pedigree. But, I saw some number about him about poor launch angles and just insane ground ball rates. I mean you're expecting a lot, but he doesn't have the swing/touch of his dad. I think naturally he has more power than his dad, but he sacrifices hit ability to tap into it. They aren't the Cecil and Prince comps. I think if Vlad Jr. solves his groundball problem he could probably still be a 25/30 hr guy but his doubles should jump up.Looking at Vlad Jr's numbers so far ...Bo Bichette also sitting on the Mendoza line
In regards to the whole Devil thing in the teams name. I thought making a thread "Do Christian hockey fans in NJ root for the Devils " but I kept that one in the vault.I wish Tampa Bay never changed their name.
The Devil Rays was a great team name. And the idea that "devil" was keeping fans away has CLEARLY been bullshyt because Tampa is at the bottom of the attendance numbers every year.
