Cody Bellinger has a 27.5M player option. Or a 2.5M buyout.

His WAR in 2024 was half of what it was in 2023 (2.2 vs 4.4)

I could see the power returning a little but it's a good thing for teams that they didn't give him a massive contract.

Anyway he better activate that player option ASAP.
I had him on my fantasy team, every time he was ready to go on a tear he would get injured, just bad luck I guess

White sox just had the worst season in mlb history and will pick 10th in the draft

Old rules they woulda been #1.new lottery rules you can’t have back to back lottery picks if you share revenue and had a top 6 pick the year before :francis:

Alex Bregman OPS

2022: .820
2023: .804
2024: .768

He turns 31 in March.
Sure Houston. Listen to Jose Altuve and give him a big contract.

:skip:

Among qualifiers, Bregman was 4th in WAR at 3B.
That said...it's clear where this is headed.

The Reds are an interesting team.

If the right breaks go their way, I could see them being a Wild Card team. They need guys to improve quite a bit though.
Elly has to get those strikeouts under control.

Steer needs to be more consistent.

India is not great, but he's fine. India gets on base he just needs to get more hits.

I understand why they're going to try to make Will Benson work, but his swing is just too long and he's probably always going to be a strikeout waiting to happen. There's a big reward there if they can fix him, but he needs a massive revamp to his swing. He's in a similar boat as Jordan Walker with the Cardinals -- the difference is Walker is 5 years younger.

The more promising side is pitching staff. I think Lodolo or Greene could easily become the next Tarik Skubal. And the Reds have a solid prospect with Chase Burns. There's not a ton to love about Andrew Abbott or Graham Ashcraft but Abbott is at least an okay innings eater at the back of the rotation.

I don't know what the Mets see in Starling Marte.
This guy should not be in these games.
He's not good.

Man, I was so upset with Vientos.

Zero outs.
1st and 2nd and the count is 0-1.

Vientos gets a fastball on the outer part of the plate. Very hittable. That should have been his pitch. It's a situational hitting scenario. You drive the ball the other way to get 2nd and 3rd with 1 out.

He got lucky that Hoffman threw a ball. And then Vientos hit the 1-2 pitch for a single (maybe a double. Not sure how they scored it)

Mets tied it. Super exciting.
But to me he put himself in a terrible hole before that lucky hit.
