Aside from us in Year 1 (Followed by a terrible year 2)

Show me the teams being successful with that strategy instead of developing the talent they recruit for the most part.

Michigan
Georgia
Ohio State
Alabama
Texas
Oregon
Washington
Utah
Notre Dame (ehh
)

Have all been consistently good-great even in the NIL/Portal era because of good coaching and talent development. Yeah they may pluck a few guys here and there but NOBODY is doing it like Deion is.

And the only reason he’s even doing it like that is because Shedeur only had 2 years left.

They don’t even have a plan at QB for when he leaves.

Been abundantly clear that these marquee teams school will always be able to build through high schools . The other schools no so much. The portal will be key for their survival until they turn the gear to a winning season.

Bruh, all these schools are using the portal now. If it wasn’t Deion then you wouldn’t have an issue. You keep being fixated on him as if he a lone wolf in this

The portal is new the sample size is too small to form a conclusion on if it is sustainable. We have to give it time to form a true assessment. That’s if it last in this form. Just because people always won a certain way doesn’t mean that’s the only way to win.

A, for a lot of schools (not a marquee program) these last 6 days about to feel like a year.
Yeah. For the most part the January portal will always be more marquee players in it. This portal here will be mostly players who didnt make a move up the depth chart in spring and see the writing on the wall to move on.

Hot take:

Quinn Ewers has 2 turnovers (and nearly a third) in the first half vs Michigan, gets benched, and Arch Manning balls out :hubie:

I think the portal changes by NCAA was a middle finger to Colleges and Coaches. I think they were tired of the messaging of them being useless and they said F it let’s empower the players. I love the player
Empowerment but a tad bit of regulations need to be in place. This is a great segment too.

Why would the rules committee middle finger its own when the committee itself is made up of reps from the conferences and schools?

If anything, it was a "okay, y'all want it one way so let's let it be THAT way" to the member schools who ask for regulation, then when a rule is passed, they sue them in the courts. Player empowerment has zilch to do with any of this. And the NCAA can't regulate this because there's 50 different rules on what's considered permissible under the law. Want it fixed? The Feds are going to have to jump in and pass a national law.
