Start 2:45 minute mark…Carl understands it well. I been saying this as nauseam in this thread and some still keep saying HS recruiting Is needed. That old model is dead for most schools and development is over (unless changes are made)

They face fukking Texas this year :dead:
The game @ Washington was scheduled before they joined the conference...they literally have the #2 and #3 teams in America scheduled this year

Congrats on finally not beating up on a bunch of MAC schools in September this year.

“Alabama’s been very fortunate with Will Reichard for the last five years,” Gantz said. “What I can tell you is they’re getting a kid, I think, with the most talent to come through college football since Justin Tucker.

“And I’ve coached the third-highest-drafted kicker in the last 12 years in Chad Ryland last year who got drafted in the fourth round. Graham has more talent and ability than he does.”

yall getting pillaged @Whips-n-Chains

The DTs do hurt, but not as much the RB(s) or WR. I read the one DT we made him the highest paid in the B1G at his position to keep him from going to Oregon, so he stayed after last season...then jumped back in this week. Those are the downsides of NIL/Portal that will eventually force guidelines.

I understand their reasoning, first year coach, not sure if they feel they're being maximized...this is the 3rd coach for some of these guys. If you're not about it, then peace. Will take a few seasons to get back to any sort of sustainable success.

Look at how many of 2023 and even 2024 recruits are hitting the portal. You might as well be very selective (if you not the big boy schools) and wait until next year to pluck the HS recruits.

Aside from us in Year 1 (Followed by a terrible year 2)

Show me the teams being successful with that strategy instead of developing the talent they recruit for the most part.

Michigan
Georgia
Ohio State
Alabama
Texas
Oregon
Washington
Utah
Notre Dame (ehh)

Have all been consistently good-great even in the NIL/Portal era because of good coaching and talent development. Yeah they may pluck a few guys here and there but NOBODY is doing it like Deion is.

And the only reason he’s even doing it like that is because Shedeur only had 2 years left.

They don’t even have a plan at QB for when he leaves.
