Maybe so, but he was clearly in over his head last year. I never got that feeling with Howard, a few braindead mistakes aside.
And besides that, those things you can't see, they weren't there with McCord. "It's just another game" and all of that. That doesn't work here.
I put the onus on Day/Chip yesterday more than I do Howard anyhow. INTs aside, they did not let him go down slingin'.
We saw what he did with the up tempo right before the half & never went byke to it again. He didn't even get a proper shot to me imo. Day wrapped up about being soft & running the ball & not utilizing NFL WRs against a makeshift secondary.
