Minor thing...
I really want a high profile free agent to tell the Yankees they need to abolish their facial hair policy.
Maybe Cole isn't that guy.
But if Aaron Judge told the Yankees last offseason that they either let him grow a beard, or they can fukk off and he'll sign with the Padres/Giants...it would be a win/win scenario in my mind. Because either the Yankees would get rid of that dumb ass policy --- or the Yankees would have to explain to their fans, and the world, that they let the face of their team sign elsewhere because they felt it was more important that players have no mustache.

I wonder if that's why they never tried to sign Bryce Harper. He told them he wasn't gonna shave and they turned their noses up at him. In which case, good for Bryce.

I vaguely remember David Price saying he was immediately ruling the Yankees out as a FA destination because of the facial hair thing.
So why even bother? Goes to my point that I don't think there were any teams out there willing to match what he already had in NY.

As long as the Steinbrenners still own the team, they won't do anything George wouldn't have done, and there's too many Boss dikkriders who would blame the player for not being a team guy than acknowledge that appearance is important to people.
