Laughable.

Isaiah Hartenstein makes more per year than Freddie Freeman; Khris Middleton makes more than Mookie Betts; Immanuel Quickley makes more than Manny Machado; Bradley Beal makes more than Aaron Judge.
NBA players are making less of a percentage of the cap than they used to.

You remove the cap, they're getting paid even more.

Who do you think makes more this season: Paul George or Gerrit Cole?
I would guess George. But even with revenue of the leagues being similar. I would expect the NBA players for the most part to have larger salaries despite if they the NBA player are of less status than the MLB player.

Of course it's George.

The point I'm trying to make is MLB is an upcapped league with "unlimited" salary potential yet NBA salaries are higher 99% of the time.

Aaron Judge has been the best hitter in baseball for years yet he's making less than 27 NBA players this season including Ben Simmons.

There is zero argument about player salaries for MLB's system when you compare to the two leagues with similar revenue. Ohtani is the only guy who makes more than every NBA player. There's four guys total ahead of Soto when it comes to AAV. Next NBA season, there will be 15 guys with higher AAVs.

If the argument is two or three guys would make a lot more with an upcapped league while everybody else is making less, that's not a good argument for your system being better for the players. Why should the average fan OR player care about the 0.1% top of the food chain making the most?

So then explain how capping salaries would increase MLB players contracts to NBA levels.

That seems like a larger argument for the Players Union of the MLB to demand higher salaries. I'd hate to see another strike, but the uncapped league with Owners clearly choosing not to pay up for players or product on the field. Seems the players need to take a stronger stand to get more money. Which I feel the NBA's player union has been hell bent on making sure the players get more money on their deals.

I feel like Basketball is a tough comparison just because there is only 15 roster spots and I'd say 80% of the teams cap is spent on their top 4-5 players, maybe less in Big 3 type teams. And the way NBA contracts are limited to cant go over 5 years, they will always have a higher AAV.

I guess baseball tends to be the same way where I'd say at least half of the 26 man roster is probably still pre-arbitration or arbitration eligible. I think that's where players may have to push back on to get to free agency younger and maximize their earning while they are entering and in their prime.

Teams will most likely go based off umps tendencies when it comes to the ABS. If a ump likes to call shyt high the team will probly only use it for calls up high.

I've already laid out the facts. The NBA and MLB have basically the same revenue but each NBA teams spends $22 million more on average than MLB teams. That's an extra $660 million being spent on player salaries that MLB does not.

I asked how a salary cap would increase MLB salaries though.
