Bryce Harper said he never got a call from the Yankees to sign there.

I thought I recall him talking about it after he'd signed with the Phillies. Could have just been his fandom. There were reports that Cashman didn't think Harper fit the needs. So I'm guessing there at least had to be some feelers out there.

But I'm not a Yankees fan so I really don't know the depth

Harper has indicated he had interest in playing for the Yankees. Cashman has also discussed it. Sounds like pay more than facial hair was the bigger obstacle though.

Bryce wanted to be a Yankee BADLY. Grew up a fan. Said one his goals in the majors was the play for them.

Them fools didn't even bother to pick up the phone to talk to him.

With all that said, the facial hair policy is dumb, outdated, and I hate it.
