My Pops Forever RIP
This has been a lot of fun, let's all do it again next year for Murakami. Maybe he'll have one of the NY teams in his final 3 to spice things up :ehh:
If Murakami ain’t a Yankee, we’re screwed for the rest of the decade. I don’t wanna go through another offseason where the Yankees are tryna wring out one more year outta some washed 1B.

This isn’t what I was talking about but the closest I could find

Cubs got that wc that year too just to get promptly swept by gaytl, but ‘98 was a great year regardless. The goat hit the game winner for championship #6 then summer of sosa right after :wow:

Peep this video, timestamped at Sosa's 62nd home run, his second that day. Here's why this video is great...

Wrigley is packed both inside and outside with rabid Cub fans.
Sosa gives them 61 and 62 for the price of one.
The fans start to lose it after his second homer and start throwing beanie babies on the field, it was beanie baby day at Wrigley.
The fans give him a 10 minute standing ovation
Sosa's family is in the ball park
Wrigley is flying the DR flag in the outfield above Waveland Ave.
The Spanish announce team is standing and hugging each other
Sosa takes three (3) curtain calls as the ground crew is cleaning up the outfield of beanie babies.
Fans in tears
Henry Rodriguez hits a double, Gaetti ties it with a seeing eye single, Grace walks it off with Sosa on the on deck circle.
This is one of the wildest days ever at Wrigley and I believe this game is what got him the MVP that year.
Can someone take me back to 1998? :to:
