Right like they have money why go for a guy who literally in the same position as you rn
I guess they want to find a guy who can win and be a program builder. Woodson could recruit, but they couldn't win despite all that talent, so it looks like they're going for the opposite approach. I know they're willing to throw whatever around NIL-wise to bring in players.

I think they learned after the kentucky fiasco last year that coaches like Nate Oats or Scott from Baylor aren't looking to make a program jump just b/c of "program prestige"

They couldn't even lure an Indiana native, and IU alum, Dusty May away from Michigan

IU's been to 2 sweet sixteens since the 90s but they'll tell you Phil Jackson is willing to come out of retirement to clean up their mess

Kentucky is 10x a better job than IU and look what happened to them last off season. Cal bounced from the "best job in CBB" and 3 or 4 HC's turned down UK, opting to stay where they're at, notably Oats and Scott Drew.

IU should've waited to see how this tournament played out. They should've waited til April and thrown $13M/year at Oats or Florida's HC

I talk shyt about Michigan but at least Dusty May was a splash hire that immediately brought in talent, recruited both HS and the portal well and turned their program around in Year 1.

This hire doesn't make any splash, no waves, no "damn IU gonna be back" vibes at all.

I mean he’s bringing his boy who’s good. And I agree they couldn’t wait two games they probably could’ve gotten beard who’s actually proven his a good coach
