The NIL money just isn't there for Colorado yet. Trust if they had the money Coach Prime would be singing a different tune.

I think a lot of these kids jumping in the portal for a pay day are going to find the bag isn't as big as they thought it would be. We are year 3 into NIL and a lot of schools are pressed for funds. Money has to be allocated to recruiting and retaining and that doesn't leave a lot left to go portal shopping for a lot of these schools. People have to understand there really isn't a ROI for these donors, so if you don't have donors that just love football and want to see their team win and no corporate NIL support that's going to dry up the well real fast.

Regarding Texas, Bama, and the playoffs. If they finish with identical records Bama can't get in without Texas getting in. Y'all can do all the mental gymnastics y'all want but that is pretty much the bottom line.

I find it funny that pretty much no one gave us a chance to beat Bama on the road. We did that, by double digits, and then everybody convinced themselves this was Saban's worst team, they win out, and now y'all are back to believing Texas can't beat Bama again. :heh:

They are getting corporate NIL money, it ain't coming from the donors. Those opportunities aren't going to be there for the rest of the players/recruits.

the ether
Utah being left out of the top-25 continues to be nonsense. They're 8-4 against one of the toughest schedules in the nation. They're one of the few squads that scheduled 11 Power-5 matchups including Florida and Baylor, all 4 of their losses were to ranked teams (2 of which are basically top-5 and another top-15), they played #3 UW to the final drive, and they've beaten three bowl teams.

Instead, the AP has SMU at #25...who is 10-2 with ZERO wins against Power-5 or ranked teams and got blown out by 5-7 TCU.

Tulane at #17 (zero Power-5 wins), Liberty at #20 (worst SOS in the entire nation), Toledo at #23 (zero Power-5 wins and lost to 5-7 Illinois), and James Madison at #24 (lost to Appalachian State and only Power 5 win is versus 3-9 Virginia) are all overrated too.

And, of course, the AP then has 8-4 Tennessee at #26, who only scheduled 9 Power-5 squads instead of 11, who only beat 2 bowl teams instead of 3, and who got blown out in all four losses including a terrible loss to 5-7 Florida (the same team Utah smashed). Their season was inferior to Utah in literally every possible way, but having "SEC" as their conference makes them #26 and Utah #29.

SMU, Toledo, Liberty and James Madison should be nowhere near the top-25. In their place should be Clemson, Utah, Kansas, and Kansas State, and all four of those squads should be ahead of Tulane too.

And I'm saying this as someone who loves when lower teams get a chance, someone who raves about the Boise States and Utahs and Central Floridas of past years. But they should earn it by actually beating someone that matters, not just by winning games in the minor leagues.
