I was really pissed the Knicks didn’t draft anyone and went full OKC with the picks but now waking up and realizing we have 10 first and 10 seconds over the next 6 years isn’t so bad.

:francis: Just not sure mister scared to make a move Leon is going to actually use them to get someone.
I've seen Hornets fans online mad as fukk at Mitch for trading Duren and I'm like..... if Mitch don't want you then I'm kinda okay with it :manny: he's probably one of the best talent evaluating GMs in the league that's been at it through multiple generations of players.

Plus reporting on draft night was ass too. Most didn't even realize we got a 1st and not just 4 second round picks

I am of the belief that you do not have to completely go wrecking ball your roster in order to rebuild.

They couldve rebuilt and had a strong squad similar to how the Warriors, Heat and Raptors have , but a series of trades for draft picks (they got like 15 for the next 5 years) has nuked their squad. And have they proven that they have the development team? Not really. So I say good luck to em
They are also of the belief that drafting and draft picks are their only currency. They want to be totally insular in building the team because they can't rely on even the David Lee's signing with them.

The developing of talent is what they have to prove, but when you have so many picks, it increases the margin of error for them, which inherently is zero.

You comparing a small market franchises to a big market franchises that is your biggest mistake. Small markets build through the draft just as the bucks did, they have SGA they havent nuked their squad completetly. they cant rely on free agency or digruntled stars to fill the roster. youd fail as a gm in okc

Same way the Griz keep drafting players when people think they should be consolidating for a vet. It's too risky in a small market, you might as well just keep drafting productive players that fit your system instead of striking out for some magic player that solves all your problems.

What happened to that Dwayne Wade 2 guard y'all had with the hair
Combination of a low basketball IQ, pop ruining him jerking his minutes around, and he suffering the most from Derozan, Mills, Gay, and LMA taking all the shots their last year in SA trying to ensure one last nba bag before they are done.

Spurs didn't even offer to extend him. They asked the GM about him before the draft and he flat out said he hadn't talked to him since the season ended. He gone. Might still pan out as a Jordan Clarkson type somewhere else though.

I think OKC did amazing
How? Eventually they got to turn all this potential into an actual basketball team that wins games instead of a basketball team that tells Al Hortford to go home so they can lose games.

I don't get the infatuation with OKC or Presti. Dude hasn't done a real trade in years. If you got picks he will do whatever to get them no questions asked. He basically running a ponzi scheme. Stringing out this rebuild forever so he don't actually have to put a winning team on the floor cause that would require him to actually work instead of sending anybody away for a pick and taking anything back for a pick cause he might just flat out tell the player to go home. Cac mediocrity at its best. I can't wait for him to get praised 2 years from now when he trades Shai for 3 1st round picks cause the Thunder accidentally won 39 games and almost made the play in game.

I saw some reports saying he called up the Spurs offering up the number 2 pick. This dude scared to death of drafting an actual franchise player :mjlol: cause it means he can't set the GM role to auto on 2k:mjlol:

I got 7 (9 if you wanna count TyTy and Kendall Brown- I didn't get the # pick right but I got the right teams for them)

EDIT: forgot Kennedy Chandler to Memphis

Yeah I feel like there was so much said about variance and possible reaches but the first round pretty much shook out like everyone expected for the most part. Maybe Jaden Hardy falling so far wasn't expected but he did eventually get picked

Preach. Can't stand the OKC praise for drafting when they have multiple 1st round picks every year and still can't win games. All their fans have to look forward to every year is the draft:russ:

Okc has missed two playoffs, you got teams like detroit, magics, kings etc who are consistently in the lottery every year eith no future. Det is doing better finally got weaver great gm ex okc assistant! I dont get this infactuation yall have with okc who are clearly rebuilding for the future by the draft. Its like some of yall would rather them be treadmill team and go .500 . This the 2nd year they been in the lottery in over 12 years. Ive seen a stat that talked about theyre one of the only teams who are consistently not in the top 5. This "hate" is weird.

see them not winning games isn't what pisses people off. It's the idea that if they were trying to competitive, they'd be in the mix for the play-in and choose to do what every fanbase wants their pretending ass franchise to do (it's what they'd want your Spurs to do if they really wanted your team to succeed)
