I might be alone on this.. Im a Nas stan but the performance was just so so for me. Like why is he performing songs from 2001? He's a legacy artist but he wasn't there as a legacy artist. He's there as a nominee for rap album of the year
in 2021. The winner of the award last grammys. Perform your stuff from Kings disease. I woulda much rather he perform rare form in its entirety then "made you look" and one mic. Like come on. Everyone else is performing songs from albums they are nominated for. The performance itself was fine but nothing special. Its the grammys man. There were some fire performances and I wish Nas coulda gave a bit more to stand out. Just my thoughts. :yeshrug:

Edit: when he finally got to rare form it was flames

Lotta the legend acts do a medley of hits at the Grammy's.... nothing new.

:mjlol:

How are they still giving Her awards and performance slots
H.E.R.'s album is better than Jasmine's tho.

R&B was loaded this year tho, there were amazing songs from multiple artists that didn't win.

That R&B Song Category...

It was his first Grammy performance where it was just his set. Doing snippets of old songs is fan service, but it also puts new ears onto him who may not have heard the songs before. Might as well capitalize on the moment while you have the attention of people who never heard his music before.

Wasn't Tyler's project a mixtape? I don't think he should have won over Nas or Cole.

Honestly, I think Cole deserved a win for something from The Offseason. It's a great album. I wouldn't be tripping if Nas won again, but idk Tyler essentially dropping a mixtape and winning got me like...

:patrice:

Plus, since he won a few years back I feel like he got the recognition within that circle to clean up whenever he's nominated.

Also like I said before there needs to be album categories for rap.

Best Rap Album
Best Traditional Hip Hop Album

Rock has two album categories. R&B has THREE ALBUM CATEGORIES and Rap as a genre is MUCH MORE popular than both Rock and R&B.

Was Silk Sonic's album not eligible for this year's nominations?

Leave the Door Open was out way before they put the album out, is that why the song was nominated but not the album?

You’re not serious
I'm deadass serious.

I don't know what's with nikkas swerving on the Queen like she still ain't dropping hits and great music.

Jasmine Sullivan's album is good and that category def was a 2 horse race, so I'm not mad she won over H.E.R. Just going off of the replayability and the songs I played more over the year, H.E.R. album got higher highs and consistency. The only knock would be it's length.

Jasmine has the woman empowerment and free sexuality theme throughout her album that I'm sure conceptually they ate up.
