Looking at Nebraska schedule, if they aren’t 8-1, 7-2 heading into Michigan week that’s gotta be it for Scott Frost right?

Nebraska is dead, unless they find a generation coach like Saban, they’ll never be able to be the power they once were. 9-win cap, with the ability to sneak into the Big Ten Title game (at least until the divisions are restructured).

A few factors come into play:

UNL is far from recruits homes, I remember a stat where their average player is from ~800 miles away from Lincoln, so they have to bring in a lot of out of State recruits. These recruits weren’t even born when Nebraska was successful.

Nebraska had some scholarship loopholes they used to exploit where a scholarship is given to the “top” male and female “students” from each county in the State. UNL of coursed used these scholarships on O-lineman players that “walked on” to Osborns teams.

Of all the has been programs, they fell off the hardest, and have the hardest road back to success.

Say what you want about Mich or Tennessee and other programs that were stronger in the 90s, but Mich and tenn still recruit at a top 15, top 10 level year in and out. UTenn plays in a rough conference + Bama every year, and Michigan has played at a 8-9-10 win clip despite some rough individual seasons. They didn’t fall off nearly as hard as Nebraska and their rivals are much stronger than Nebraska’s.

From 3 titles in the 90s to 3 wins last year…completely insane the fall off.

I can see Nebraska winning 8-9 games this year.

Totally agree

OU at home = loss
@Mich = loss
@iowa = loss
Home vs UWisky = 50/50

I just think there’s a big part of their fan base that thinks they’ll be returning to glory and some point and I just don’t see that being a possibility in todays era unless they uncover the next generational CFB coach.

His break downs and a few others are why I’m on Twitter, but I’ll post his stuff in this thread as much as i can fam, yeah his break downs are the stuff of legends, and I def got a good feel for what plays we were running and how we could be better or to switch it up, and how there was break down in plays and who the blame was on. I got tired of them pretentious fakkits on mgoblog and a few of them are racist af
MgoBlog fell off bad. Their football reporting this off season has been atrocious. Basketball is a little better.

Yeah, they also geared all the high school programs in the state to be feeder programs for the University. Everyone in Nebraska was running the I. The best players even though there was only a few were going to play for the Huskers. So when you got there there was no need to acclimate. After that you just need to pluck a few guys from the south and west. Also, their PED program would’ve made Russia jealous.

I still think they can be a regional power. Memorial stadium is still top 10 college venues in the country. It’s name still carries weight in the Rocky Mountain region, the fans also seem practical they aren’t looking for national championships they just wanna be respectable. If kids come to Norman and Iowa City they’ll come to Lincoln. I don’t know if Frost is that guy. He seems really unlikeable, like Brian Kelly.

Their fan base might actually be the best and most welcoming fan base in the entire country. They’re def realistic, and it’s a part of their culture to be very respectful to opposing teams’ fans

Michigan wouldn't be "out of the blue" :comeon: plus one of y'all gonna die week one since you're not gonna run the table afterward.

ND could lose week one and still make it. They play Clemson at home, those two will eliminate one or the other, with advantage ND. and then ND plays a rebuilding SC in LA but that’s never been that tough of a road environment

My point is there's no way the loser of that game survives the rest of their gauntlet...imo.
