I agree with the "why". The Big 12 isn't a player. Just like the ACC and the PAC aren't. Everyone else is just waiting to see where they get in on those two sides. Big 12 expanding now is pointless. Why expand a dead conference? Just doing extra paperwork and painting a bunch of logos for 2-3 years at most.

People have the big 12 as walking the green mile status, but honestly no one knows how or what it will look like, i understand and get the two powers left, but still we just have to watch and wait, same with the pac 12, we don’t know for sure if usc/ucla is leaving but honestly only one of them carried the cache, majorly, honestly again we just have to wait,

I mean he literally said “there’s a good chance I could get some money at Iowa” as in it hasn’t happened or hasn’t been offered.

So, he’s passing up what was on the table to stay at Iowa as it stands now.

He mentions academics and long term future, but Iowa has an 85% acceptance rate, not to mention that $1M invested well can provide more financial security than a college degree. Not like the other schools wouldn’t provide him the opportunity to earn a degree, and it’s not like he chose Stanford or Berkeley…

It has to be more to it, he probably already paid, and i thought Iowa had very high admission standards?? I know it’s a decent enough degree, but that said again it has to be something that just can’t be said yet cuz ain’t no way

The conference expansion will be held up by ND as they process a decision, but yall in a pick your poison situation…either begrudgingly join the big ten, or accept your fate in the SEC. You’ll make more money w/ the big ten’s media deal than you’re making on your own, and moving forward the SEC won’t have the media markets to leverage as large of a deal as the big ten with the top 3 media markets.

Miami, FSU, Clemson, and a 4th school will but assured be out of the ACC

as a Miami fan I’m torn between the SEC and Big 10 super conferences

On one hand I think the Big 10 is a more natural cultural fit, but being in the SEC means we’d get to play Florida again every year which would be crazy. Also positive from a recruiting perspective

I would say Virginia tech, but they a package deal with uva, maybe unc, but given fsus downward spiral would they hold off on adding them ??? Miami ain’t getting a big invite again logistical nightmare

the ACC schools and ND’s deal has them locked in til 2036, BUT there’s some buyout clause or early departure fee, I was hearing it’s something like $156M…

So, if this B1G media rights deal was rumored to be $1B before the LA schools/market was brought in, that was about $70M/year for each school…Now, with the LA media market in the fold, Apple is back in the mix for the rights, im hearing that’ll drag Amazon in too….this deal will be even larger, hearing like $100M-$125M/year/school…add ND to the mix it will be an even bigger deal…

Where am I going with all this? ND jumps ship from the ACC deal and that buyout/termination fee pays for itself in less than 2 years…

OSU, scUM, Pedo State and USC are just a big and historic as ND. The Big Ten wouldn't be in this position w/o us bring in ratings and revenue every damn year. ND would have to fall in line and keep that entitled bullshyt to themselves if they would come into the conference. They are the ones who need to choose, not us. We already have multiple teams willing to take their place if they want to stay dumb and be independent.

They are thinking of football but Running the golf, tennis, baseball, softball, track, etc. teams all over the country is not going to be cheap. Especially if you are UCLA and USC on a weekly basis. That’s also gonna be real hard on the student athletes and fans

Doing a road trip on the weekend is one thing but flying across the country weekly or every other week is taxing
