There’s a difference between playing Illinois and playing Ohio St…in the end it truly doesn’t matter to me, and what’s done is done…
I personally view the timing of UMich’s “oh well we caught COVID” to have been rather convenient for y’all a few times. It’s especially glaring considering the Umich
hosted meetings with other ADs/schools on how well michigans COVID protocols were and how other schools should follow their protocols lol.
IIRC your hoops team was on a downward slide back in January and conveniently caught COVID during a stretch of ranked opponents (MSU, Purdue), MSU wasn’t even made aware until they were in AA already…those games were rescheduled but the bleeding had stopped. Had you played a then hot MSU team and a solid Purdue at the time you likely lose both an miss the tournament altogether.
It might’ve been the same weekend but then your hockey team also caught COVID before having to play a ranked team (WMU?). And your hockey teams 2020-2021 COVID absences were even investigated for being deceptive.
A formal complaint was filed with UM's Equity, Civil Rights and Title IX Office detailing the allegations.

It’s also interesting that despite hoops and hockey having continual outbreaks that the football team that has ~10x as many players as a hoops was able to stave of any COVID issues…conveniently they were a 1 loss team last year.
What did the football team do differently from the 2020 season to the 2021 season (beside fielding a quality team)?
Why did this drastic increase in quality control somehow allude the much smaller hoops and hockey programs?
Had your 2020 football team been undefeated going into that OSU game I put a zero % chance on them missing the game.
Not looking to get into some pissing contest, just stating the timing of the COVID stuff for UM has been very convenient from the outside looking in.
