Makes sense….a 3* with a Georgia offer is typically much different than a 3* with a Purdue offer.
Unfortunately you will have some people trying to draw several conclusions independent of that thought process, like i said on that post, taking a chance on a 6’6 athletic af d linemen is not the same as when Texas tech or wake forest takes several 2-3 stars and get them to graduate to the league

This, and typically the 3*s with UGA type offers are high 3*s that are close to being 4*s, or late bloomers that burst onto the scene.

Coaches dgaf about recruiting rankings so if Saban offers a 3* best believe that player has been well scouted.

its being rumored on twitter that Ed Reed was wanting the Morgan State job but Morgan State declined to hire him.
I know we look at great players and think this guy would be a good coach. but looking at Ed and the advisory work he does with Miami does that suggest he'd be a good coach?

I use to think that but coaches actually reference their recruiting rankings, Nick Saban did that in the interview when he was trying to shyt on Jimbo and Deion

I get from both sides why they're doing it but I hate how these dudes skipping the line and taking spots from black assistants who been grinding for years trying to come up. Its like damn how is a brotha ever supposed to make it to a HC job

Why the push back on Morgan state like they not in a position to need all the help they can get, but also why is he trying to coach Morgan st

This the hill i will forever die on, Ed does not need to go to Morgan st to be a HC, but i got a feeling he not trying to be someone position coach or d coordinator, and he know most hbcu’s will jump at the chance to hire a big name, but all he’s going to do is turn everything upside down and when a better job comes in 2-3 years he’s gone, and they back to square one
USC going to walk the Pac12 right?
Uhhh no, they still lacking in the trenches, but should be enough to challenge most of the better comp and beat the peons

seems like it came down to Ed wanting total control over the program and Morgan state folks said no. i mean getting that type control dont sound too out of norm for a coach to get.

after reading the new coach resume. he seems like a nice hire
Wilson comes to Morgan after serving for 13 seasons as the head football coach at Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland. There, he achieved three straight Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) conference championships, in 2021, 2019 and 2018; five NCAA playoff berths; and three CIAA Coach of the Year honors.

I wonder why they pushed back, I’m guessing he wanted Morgan St to be “Fully Committed” to football, and they probably wasn’t trying to do that
