I’m glad these conferences shut down playoff expansion


Never made any sense for numerous reasons

Low key, I don’t think there’s this massive amount of new tv money available for an expanded playoff

Doubt it’s totally over. There is money there if it’s split between multiple platforms.

Maybe, I just don’t see networks throwing billions of dollars out there to broadcast #5 vs #12

All the conferences seem to be against it which is a great thing. The ACC stated they don’t think the players would be for it and a #11 see would probably still have opt outs

Billions across the board no but if it's split like the NFL it becomes more manageable. The contract is up in 2025 so keeping it the same lowers the CFP's leverage. At this point they have to bring something new to the table.

What’s going to be new is no longer being able to pretend that the SEC is the same as what’s going on in other parts of college football.
