Did it really? The season was what it was, but we also (with all due respect to the Dodgers) thought the regular season last year was fugazi.
and the NFL of all sports will show you that you can have 17 games in the regular season and you can tune out of that early as well if your team ain't shyt (case in point: NY)
MLB is not the same as these other leagues. You can make the postseason in the NBA and feel horrible about where your team's headed. When more teams can get into the postseason that not, the incentive to give a shyt during the year lessens.
It was fugazi, I admit, but if they had not played at all that was going to be a setback the MLB would not have recovered from. NY Football, fair enough, but as we know with the Mets, management matters. Both teams have owners that could not care any less because they will be top 10 in attendance at the end.
The main problem is no one cares now about baseball regular season. Why pretend it matters, we know the ratings tell us otherwise? Let's get some playoff streaks going for Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toronto, Montreal (sorry Tampa) Seattle, etc and stop living in 1950.
