Certainly MVP candidate Bryce or as his fans are calling him MV3 showed out in the most important series of the season with a chance to get his team in the playoffs. He had to right?

When the Yankees had to deal with this 3 years ago nobody worried about us.
If Manfred wants to change it, cool, but then go back to 3 division winners and 1 wild card like before. Otherwise we're gonna enter a world where 78 win teams make the playoffs. If we used last year's format, the Indians would be in the playoffs right now.

Only happened once in 1978 and that was when it was just East and West with 26 teams

I agree with @holidayinn21. So what if the Indians made the playoffs? Do you want people to watch the sport or not? People want to be interested and given that baseball is now a local sport, make sure the teams make the playoffs right now.
But I disagree, the wake up call won't come until the NBA gets that China stimulus and the MLB ends up third in revenue. Again.

I'm saying there should be 8 teams per league in the playoffs lol. I think the MLB playoffs are too hard to make.

That's the beauty of it. When you make the playoffs in MLB, you earned that shyt. I get that Americans abhor regular seasons and just wanna get to the playoffs, but pennant races are what make the regular season worthwhile and they still mean something in baseball. Just cuz every other sport wants to give out participation trophies doesn't mean baseball should. But the MLB is a business. It's bad business in 2021 to have only the top 5 teams make the playoffs. What happened last year created a lot of new fans for baseball. Yes Americans don't like regular seasons and especially 162 game ones when the stands are half empty by August in some cities. 14 or 16 teams (7/8 per league) should be the standard unless you really want to concede defeat to the NBA and fight hockey and MLS for the place. The NFL makes changes all the time, they are number 1. That tells you right off the bat this isn't working anymore. And the National League DH too. The players union needs to wake up.
