Because in every other team sport in existence if you win your conference/division, you enter a tournament to win your league. You play your way to a title, not vote your way. Like you should...

130 teams only playing 12 games with vastly different schedules makes the sport unique

There’s rarely 4 teams that deserves a shot every year and now y’all want it expanded

I’m saying that because a conference championship doesn’t mean you are deserving of a shot at the national championship.

I think it’s stupid 8-8 or 7-9 division winners can make the playoffs in the nfl too

They’ve won enough to make it to the chip, if they weak sauce, they will get dispensed if they trash, but y’all have back doored your way into the playoffs

no need for the 4 team or expansion

Y’all want to live in a world where UGA can lose 50-0 Saturday and still get a shot at the championship

Still don't get why we don't make it a pure tournament of champions and eliminate rankings other for seeding

A single at large for indies or OTHER CONFERENCE CHAMP (Mac, sun belt)

12-1 Michigan (or 11-2 Iowa)
13-0 Georgia or (12-1 bama)
12-1 ok st (or 11-2 Baylor)
11-2 Pitt (or 11-2 wake)
10-2 Oregon (or 9-3 Utah)
11-1 utsa
11-1 SDSU
11-1 Notre Dame

You play your way in period. Think you're worthy sorry win the conference, a legit tournament of champions. The first round would be next week: the conference title games.

• Dec 3-5th - conference title games
  • Dec 6th - seeding announcements
• December 11th - 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 v 6, 4 vs 5
  • Citrus, cotton, fiesta, peach
• January 1st - 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3
  • Rose, Sugar
• January 10th
  • Title game, rotating to any location

You add one game, and kill all arguments other than the 8 seed at most.

because not all conference champs are created equally. You have teams in other conferences that would win other conferences (Ohio State) easily. Ohio State would win the ACC, B12, PAC12 (they lost to Oregon but i think they beat them in the rose).

Also you can't have mountain west champ, or Mac or sunbelt champ they 1. Don't deserve it. 2. Would get demolished by other teams that don't make the playoffs in your post.

It just needs to be the 12 best teams regardless of conference, regardless if you win your conference 12 best.

I'll stop you right there. This has never been a conversation piece in any sport but this one. The "weaker" conference champs get lower seed like they would in any sport. AND, if more conferences have a LEGIT chance to win a Natty those teams and conferences get stronger. Terrible talking point.

It's not terrible. Do you want the BEST teams to make it or the Conference Champs to make it? I want the best teams REGARDLESS of where you happen to play in conference to be in the playoffs. Again you can't compare this to other sports when other sports don't use formulas (BCS) or humans voting on teams to make the post season. So let's stop the BS. You know better than that. If you bring up basketball 64 teams make it not 4.

I want a tournament of champions to determine a champion like every other sport in existence. There is nothing special about college football. Explain why baseball or hockey or fcs doesn't have this problem? There are MORE baseball teams nationally than football.

It's a terrible position you're taking and you know it.

on paper there are many situations where Team A should beat Team B and it's gone sideways. That's the beauty of sports.
