How the fukk is Michigan St dropping more bags on coaches and players than us
y’all getting caught up too much on the brand name of a program. Nobody gives a f about that anymore it’s not the 80s or 90s where only select schools were on TV. Every Rutgers game is now televised.
MSU has several billionaires that are younger and willing to shell out the money to build out the program and take it to the next level where as a lot of programs are living off past accomplishments. Look at what Oregon has done the last 20 or so years. They went from being 3rd at best in the PAC 10 to now being a ~top 10 or so program.
then look at Nebraska who was the cream of the crop in the 90s and ain’t shyt now. Recruits don’t care about stuff that happened 5, 10 or 20+ years before they were born…
A position like Miami or usc or lsu will have enormous pressure to immediately succeed…you basically have to make an instant impact and that’s not always easy to do.
It’s a new era in college sports…look at least year where Duke didn’t make the tournament and Baylor, a program with zero history won the national title.
