Oregon is a better gig than UM right now.
Yeah no doubt, but he’s been wanting to jump to the south for a while. As I understand, if Auburn came correct and United amongst their trustees, he would’ve went to Auburn. If money was not a problem, I think Miami would be able to get him

Miami as a private school has always been like that so the football program will never have enough funds compared to the others in their class. Plus their bad history with boosters will keep them behind the ball unless they get desperate for cash and start turning a blind eye again (I don't think this would be as bad now because of NIL). They could get a good coaching staff who can recruit and develop the in state talent and they would be better than what they are now. But then they would have to eventually have to to pay for it and would most likely decline it for a cheaper option and go back to being mediocre.

They have money, Miami not hurting, they choose not to spend the bread, also I’ve heard several people speak on how particular it is recruiting around Miami, with following through on offers, or risk getting froze out, you have no choice but to pay to get talent in there, because every program worth a damn is in the city and surrounding areas working to get them kids too, but when there is no quiet or loud money to get these kids the program suffers and here we are, Manuel is not a great coach, they need to get on their knees and beg Butch Davis to come back and get that old thang back

Thats true..

And Cristobal will probably get another raise just to prevent it.
Now, his agent has done a fantastic job of using some of this interest to keep his bag expanding. I’m not gonna doubt that

idk what’s UO’s cut off point, as I don’t think they’d want to enter top tier coach salary territory, but we’ll just have to see

Jimmy Johnson is not walking thru those doors :yeshrug:. Plus I don't think Miami has the money compared to other big time schools to compete consistently in today's game.

They have the money. The Board of Trustees gave up on football. You can't take 10 years off and think it's going to turn around overnight. They'll be satisfied with a program that is occasionally great.
