I've been preaching how good Markstrom is for the last two years. He was unreal again tonight. Vegas had 40 shots on goal and Vancouver BLOCKED 40 shots. They dominated possession again but Vancouver just cashed in on their opportunities.
This is the first time the Canucks have ever defeated Vegas in regulation.![]()
I'm not sure if Vancouver wins another game.![]()
I know there is no home ice as in having an advantage with fans, but game three and four could be big for the Bruins. They get last change, which could be big for them. The Lightning kept targeting the Bruins second line to shut them down, but the Bruins get last change these next two games. Need to capitalize.
2010-2011 rematch? @Regular_P
.
I'm not sure they will either. Their only saving grace is they have the two best players on the ice: Markstrom and Pettersson.
Still don't think Vancouver has much of a shot against Vegas.![]()
The Lightning have more talent up and down their roster than the Bruins, it's just that Boston's first line is usually so dominant it doesn't matter. It wouldn't shock me to see Tampa win but they have a habit of choking in the playoffs with this group so I need to see it to believe it.Vegas is definitely the deeper team, especially up front. However, the big thing for the Canucks winning that game is that these next two games they will be the "home" team and have last change. Anything can happen.
The Bruins need to win tonight. I don't think it's a game where they can afford to lose. Maybe I'm over-reacting, but the Lightning have looked like the superior team.
However, when looking at the goals the Lightning have scored, they have been from deflections, breakaways, and turnovers. They haven't really scored any other way. If the Bruins can limit mistakes and GET THE PUCK OUT OF THE fukkING ZONE, they can win.
