Just not sold on his game. Also didn’t really make his team competitive, like Markelle Fultz at Washington

I also saw this earlier:

I tried to find things I like about this kid over the season, but add in his indifference to anything but getting buckets inefficiently and you have a guy who's gonna be a huge letdown to a team banking on him to lead them.

Perfect fit? :mjtf: They already have Rozier and Graham.
Rozier is Reggie Jackson with hood credentials. Graham has improved tremendously but he isn’t moving the needle. Lamelo at 3 is a no brainer unless they think Haliburton, Toppin or Avdija will be better.

I wouldn't mind LaMelo, but I'd be surprised if he goes #3. He doesn't seem like a Mitch Kupchak type of pick

Isn't moving the needle?

bro we were projected to win less than 10 games this year - Graham was doing so much that we had to bench him to start losing :mjlol:

in what world do you have a 2nd round pick break out as the MIP - and you draft an immediate replacement? rozier ain't even bad either. so the backup position is set too
rozier trash they need an upgrade ‍♂️
we have no starting center or wing scoring :unimpressed:

If you think Graham is a potential all-star then sure. But if he's not going to be an all-star then there's no reason to hesitate on getting a good young guard with a high ceiling.

Deni fits onto the current roster but neither Rozier or Graham are expected to be all-star caliber players or the backcourt of the future. :yeshrug:

If you're gonna take a high risk/high reward guy, then there's better players than Ball too though

I'm good with Mitch's approach in the time being. PJ Washington isn't going to be an all-star ever, but he's definitely in all of our long-term plans. Finding guys of that level doesn't just give you success, it gives you tradebeable assets that you can actually work with. Drafting busts, guys leaving from the start, and headaches just leaves you with nothing.

Somewhere along the line you gotta take chances though. You can always scout and find good players in the scrap pile of D league players and free agency like the Spurs have.

But the league has taught us that you generally need stars and you aren't gonna get a star oftentimes without taking a risk. Very few LeBrons out there that are guaranteed stars coming into the league. There's more Giannises that are raw and untapped.

Edit: also whose a better high risk/high reward player than Ball? Patrick Williams? I genuinely don't know.
