Our new OC, y’all in trouble
Reported for slanderThey need to just boot this motherfukker and move on already. So a newER poster on 24/7 came out this this long paragraph. I don't know much about him, but dude seems to act like he knows it all.. kinda like @smitty22 hoe ass. This is what HE said earlier today..
Do we need a 49th episode of "Harbaugh: He Loves Us, He Loves Us Not"? For discussion (if it can even be called that any more) purposes, certainly not, but I am going to skip all the fluff and speculation to give a State of the State on Harbaugh's current position.
I could have posted it to get lost in the innumerable nonsensical rants each Harbaugh contract "update" thread has become but I wanted the board to actually see it. If mods feel like canning it, that's up to them.
I am not posting this for a lengthy, irrelevant discussion, just laying out a statement on facts I can personally vouch for.
1. Jim Harbaugh has zero plans to coach anywhere other than Michigan next season. I genuinely do not know how this hasn't been entirely clear from the beginning and every subsequent "update" other than ridiculous wishful thinking by those that wish to see him gone and people that don't get enough attention on Twitter.
2. The Team and the Staff of course know he is staying at the helm and have proceeded as such. This is consistent with every legitimate report but merits repeating because for reasons incomprehensible to me, many have chosen not to understand this.
3. Warde Manuel prefers to have Harbaugh at the helm past this season. He has extended an offer. I do not know the EXACT details of the offer, I believe exceptionally few people on this planet do. The important distinction I'd like to clear up here is Warde did NOT extend a paltry offer in hopes to spur Harbaugh toward walking away. If Warde felt it was in Michigan's best interest to move on, there would be NO offer.
4. That being said, the offer DOES structurally differ in relevant ways from his previous contract. Harbaugh PREFERS a contract much closer in terms to what he's already signed. Again, I DO NOT know the specific details of the offer and would be extremely wary of any "source" that claims to.
5. Harbaugh IS ABSOLUTELY willing to field NFL offers to leverage more favorable contract terms. This fact is IRRELEVANT to his future at Michigan outside of the exact terms that he is employed under. Fielding NFL offers is far different than SEEKING an NFL job, which Harbaugh is NOT.
To expound on this from a logical basis that I would hope anyone with a job can understand:
Jim Harbaugh plans to stay at Michigan.
Warde Manuel wants Harbaugh to stay at Michigan.
It is in Jim Harbaugh's best interest to sign a favorable (to himself) contract.
It is Warde Manuel's job to get the most favorable terms he can for the University of Michigan.
It would be foolish for either party to just take what's on the table until all variables are understood. Warde has no business signing Harbaugh to a megadeal if Harbaugh's options are limited. Harbaugh has no business taking a pay cut if the NFL is offering him a raise (along with better working hours).
This is how it works in any competent place of employment. The University of Michigan is no different. There has been no need to rush this because it doesn't impact anything outside of fan angst. I'm (not) sorry to say both Warde and Jim don't give fan angst a millisecond of thought in their decision making. Hope that doesn't hurt anybody's feelings.
Let's try to enjoy the New Year and relax until real news breaks, ok?
Then, a dude that's very well known as having ties to the program snaps back (assuming its a shot at this guy) and says this..
There is no agreement, that has been signed. Which means there is no damn agreement.
Warde has been informed from his bosses and people with money that they will support Warde no matter what his decision is. Says a lot of sumthin about sumthin.
Harbaugh can’t undertake a pursuit of legitimate candidates for a position on staff until he himself can show he’s staying at UM. Similarly he can’t schefule pressers, meetings etc to talk about the future until he commits to a future. Unless the gatherings are just to chit chat about nothing real. Seems to me grown folks got better things to do than get together for no reason. Read that’s as many times as is necessary to clear any confusion.
UM has compiled a list of coaching options and has reached out to some.
Deadlines have been issued.
Next is an opinion: “60/40 that he signs.”
So who the fukk knows.
this better be one of you OSU nikkas with my money or my fade
nikka i just rolled right by you, and you took a picture of my car and sped off in the other direction
Marshall fired their coach after he won conference coach of the year
