I didn't know that either. Honestly.. dude seems like a chill guy. He prolly got all stressed out that Harbaugh wouldn't let him have full reign of the offense, and he took it out on the kids. That's the only thing I can think of.

He does seem chill maybe they don’t like him pushing them :yeshrug:

I was coming here to link this anyway, but

Pate probably breaks all this down as plain text as anybody not an Auburn fan/associate could. Everyone that knows somebody that knows somebody knows how inept our Board is, and it's definitely something that capped Gus's shot at perhaps prolonging their success from 2013-14, and certainly in trying to remain afloat once LSU and Georgia changed hands.

It also wouldn't surprise me if money just started falling from the sky, because the next coach ends up being more approachable and can woo certain boosters better than Gus did. It's a fukking shame it takes that but :yeshrug:

Why even do this? Would they really buyout Gus just run it back with the same staff? You’re basically paying him to not call plays anymore.
all the lead candidates that have PUBLICLY been released have ties with Steele, I think that's coincidental, but I also do believe he's loved amongst the Board and choosing to save the money that he would be paid would probably position one coach over another in interviews. It's dumb, it's not very progressive, but it's how this program operates

he's not going to be head coach though

For what it's worth, Cristobal appears to be almost an absolute, and while it appears he follows just about every recruit he recruits regardless of school, he seems to be following Auburn players and signees

I think it's an B+ type of hire if it happens, definitely preferable to Steele being promoted (even though he will likely be retained). When nikkas started saying Jamie Chadwell, Tony Elliot, Venables, I realized quickly we not doing too much better than Mario

They dumb if they sign on Wednesday without knowing who the HC will be
Coaches come and go. You have to be super interested in the school and academics too. There’s been hella players through the years say you shouldn’t just go to a school just because of a coach

Y’all trippin underwhelming hires don’t always equal bad hires and splashy hires don’t always equal good hires ask Texas fans

Yea but you don’t even know what the hell you signing up for, what if a defensive player who is suited for a 3-4 defense goes and the school hires a coach that runs a 4-3

If It's Cristobal at least it's realistic and y'all not trying to go the Tennessee route and go after a pipe dream like Bob Stoops, Joe Brady, or Urban Meyer.

Not trying to shyt on Auburn but Auburn has never really been a A+ coaching destination.
