Even with the Sunday "punt" lineup in today, this was a game that they could have won. Lost three of four to a mediocre at best team. The next two weeks can be the death knell for this team and it will have all have been of their doing.

Honestly, this isn't Mickey's fault; at least the St. Louis series isn't. The bullpen cost them three wins alone. The bullpen has blown fourteen leads this season and those all resulted in losses. If they could have held on to 8-9 of them, this entire season has a different outlook and the Mets would look to add if they could. We know Mickey is gone after this season, but Brodie should start next season on the hot seat as well. His tenure outside of JD Davis and letting Alonso play from day one has been an outright failure.
The harsh reality is that Jeff literally decides line-ups some days.
It doesn't matter who we get or for what reasons, we will never be the franchise that we should be as long as the Wilpons own this team, and they are never going to not own it.
