Every Martinez we've ever had or signed has been a dysfunctional mess. I remember all the hype and all the fanfare (wasn't that nikka even on the back page of the Post?) to amount to nothing. At least Milledge had a few flashes of what he could have been, Martinez was just nothing.

And fukk, getting K-Rod cost us MIKE fukkING TROUT.

It's gonna be real interesting to see if the Pads build a team now, I know they got a farm system (from what I hear) but it wouldn't surprise me if this turns into Arod/Texas all over again in 3 years from now. At least he's not in the NL East.

Walker Lockett starts the first grapefruit game. He's one of the top players I'll be looking at this spring. It would be great to have some actual starting reserves stowed away in triple A. You can also toss Kyle Dowdy in there but as a rule 5 pick he'll likely break camp as a long man, unless he flops hard in ST. Hector Santiago, Chris Flexen and Corey Oswalt and the like can't be starting games for us this year.
