It’s not a hot take it’s facts. He’s the head coach not the OC. OU is the same team it was before he got the job

He inherited an already stable,elite program and talent.
OU is OU.
The last 3 years with 2 Heisman QB's and 1 Heisman runner up.
Still not a factor when it comes to winning it all. Got spanked the last 2 years in the Final Four. Choked away the UGA game.

You wanna bring up that OU had Heisman Trophy winners before Riley but their last Heisman winners were in 2003 and 2008. Riley had BACK TO BACK winners and the runner up this year. So please tell me how he's not good. @CrimsonTider

OU has NFL talent on offense against the worse defenses in college football

Lincoln Riley's name is mentioned for NFL jobs a lot.
Why?
Did he build a contending program? Did he turn around a contending program? Did he change a culture?
No.
Bob Stoops won 11 games each of his last 2 years before Lincoln took over.
Lincoln continued what Bob had already been doing.
For the NFL, they are looking for a turn around, builders of a franchise.
Lincoln has not shown that in his head coaching career.
Matt Rhule has done it.
He continued winning with an already winning program. Now, that isn't easy because many have even failed to do it.
To think he is special? No NC titles. Embarrassing losses in the last 2 playoff games against other elite programs.
Now how will that translate to the NFL where competition is more of an even playing field?
