Change is happening again at Michigan football.
And this time, Jim Harbaugh insists it'll all be moving much faster.
Michigan's offenses during the first four years of Harbaugh's tenure in Ann Arbor have been many things, but up-tempo was never really in the vocabulary. Enter first-year offensive coordinator
Josh Gattis, a 35-year-old first-time play-caller who Harbaugh declared the main motivation for all this change.
Change that will feature an offense that, Harbaugh says, will take advantage of the best weapons Michigan possesses.
"The biggest difference people will see will be the tempo," Harbaugh told reporters Monday. "It's more up-tempo. Less huddle. I think that'd be (the biggest one)."
Twice he insisted that
Gattis, who was Alabama's co-offensive coordinator last season, was the biggest reason why.
Harbaugh says he has been following Gattis' career for some time. He wanted him on his staff. He wanted him to run his offense. And he wants him to call plays for Michigan.
Michigan won't be using a fullback as much moving forward with a faster-paced offense.
