Anybody think one of the following won't be National Champions this season:

Bama
UGA
Clemson
OSU
Oklahoma

These are clearly the teams that have separated themselves this season. I don't believe Clemson can score on Bama, and I just don't believe OU can/will beat two elite teams in a row. They'll probably lose to Texas tbh.
repped :smugdraper:
sooners just lacking that championship mentality :youngsabo:

I wouldnt put Oklahoma or Clemson until they give Lawrence the reigns full time in the same realm as Bama. UGA and OSU IDK how to feel about them yet, just not enough of a game log. They both faced adversity, but against ranked teams they was miles better than and that eventually showed.

Just stop. I can guarantee you that this doesn't take into account that:

1. None of them nikkas is healthy
2. We have Guards playing tackle and a converted DT playing guard
3. Robles transferred, Boselli & Martinez quit football, and the only true Tackle on the team got dismissed for a assault charge.
4. Baveon Johnson was a top rated Guard slated to play Center at next level and this muthafukka has literally forgotten how to snap the ball AND can't stay healthy
5. Minshew & dikkerson cannot stay healthy for more than 50% of your snaps
6. And most importantly, recruiting rankings don't mean shyt.

People, even the ones who.dislike FSU on here see with their own 2 eyes that the guys on that line just aren't good. So no, it's far from a myth. The link below goes into further detail

How did Florida State’s offensive line get this bad?

Of course dude out here not posting the entire article :stopitslime:

Here are some other stuff from that same article

This is where the critique of Trickett comes into play.

Trickett was considered a hard-nosed, no-nonsense perfectionist and his reputation as a tough coach spread throughout recruiting circles. Whether it was fair or not, a narrative built that Trickett could not attract elite linemen to come play for him...or that he wasn’t interested in those who didn’t fit his ideology of coming from hardscrabble roots. The Seminoles saw in-state linemen like Alex Leatherwood(Alabama) and Martez Ivey (Florida) go elsewhere. In the case of Leatherwood, FSU was late in recruiting a player from Pensacola who was coached by an FSU legend (Charlie Ward) and never recovered. From 2007-2017, there were 41 five-star offensive linemen listed in the 247Sports database. FSU never signed a single five-star lineman in that span,

Projecting ahead also became problematic in recent years. We’ve heard that Fisher and Trickett clashed at times regarding what they wanted from their linemen. Fisher wanted massive maulers to fit the mold of what most SEC teams did, while Trickett valued agility and flexibility in his zone-blocking scheme. The line turned into a bit of a hodgepodge with no true identity.

a bizarre inequity of scholarship allocation from class to class.

Offensive linemen signed by class:

-8-10 in 2014

-3 in 2015

-6 in 2016

-1 in 2017

The ping-ponging in priorities created little margin for error. If FSU missed on too many evaluations or had bad injury luck in a class that was heavy on offensive linemen, it wouldn’t likely know for a year or two. As we’re seeing now, that created a void in being able to quickly compensate for misses at a position that usually often takes years to develop.

Additionally, Trickett and FSU went away from recruiting tackle types. Johnson was an example of a long, quick tackle...but FSU typically went after players who projected more as interior linemen.

We’re seeing now that FSU has a shortage on tackles and has been relegated to kicking guards outside.

Auburn and UF need to play more regular. They've had way too many classics. Same with Gt and FSU.
