CHARLES WOODSON: MICHIGAN KEEPS LOSING TO OHIO STATE BECAUSE MICHIGAN ISN'T EMPHASIZING OHIO STATE ENOUGH

Ohio State fans who suffered through or came of age with the Michigan rivalry in the 1990s must have thought they'd never see this day, even if they privately dreamed it would happen.

Michigan has defeated Ohio State just twice this century, a statistic for which we will clarify, to our friends up north, the 20th century ended on Dec. 31, 2000. Ohio State has owned the series since Jim Tressel effectively promised victory in Ann Arbor upon his arrival.

Now, the wailing and gnashing of teeth emanate from Michigan and alumni like Charles Woodson are left prognosticating how the Wolverines found themselves in the position they put Ohio State 20 years ago.

He said Saturday he feels the game hasn’t been emphasized enough by Michigan.

“To be quite honest I really feel like over the years, in recent years, there hasn’t been the emphasis that I’m used to being put on that game,” Woodson said.

“Every game has been out on the same level of that game and that’s not the way we were brought up, that’s not the way we were raised around here. And we had no shame in saying it.”

Al bacio.

This should sound familiar to Ohio State fans in their 30s or 40s. It's the exact comments Ohio State fans were saying about John Cooper to explain his 2-10-1 record in this rivalry. Michigan fans preened and derided Ohio State fans for saying it and now their most prolific alumni and fans are saying it themselves.

Let us preview the next stage in this grief cycle for Michigan. Today, Michigan alumni fans bemoan that it's not emphasizing Ohio State enough. When the losses keep coming, the rationalization will evolve to that Michigan is emphasizing Ohio State too much.

Again, Michigan fans, Buckeyes went through this cycle themselves 20 years ago and were derided by Michigan fans for it. All fan bases go through this cycle at some point so we think it important at Eleven Warriors to help our friends up north through the process.

Michigan travels to Ohio State on Nov. 24 to put win No. 3 in the column for this century. Charles Woodson has a fair bit riding on this game. He guaranteed a win while speaking at Michigan's commencement this year.

I don’t think the emphasis can be more than it has been, i think it’s a talent and coaching scenario tressell instantaneously pumped more talent in Columbus, and it became easier when they got rid of Carr, then they got rid of Carr without a vetted back up plan, a case of as Devin the dude put it best “fukking over your fo sho p*ssy trying to get mo p*ssy, and we ended up getting no p*ssy”they thought that wvu magic was gonna come to Ann Arbor and you just can’t run that and expect to compete, i would have took a spread offense, or keep carr, now we trying to get out that hole, we are finally able to get comparable talent, we just need a qb that can lead us, hopefully we have one now, time will tell though

This is a million percent on point, but leave it to the national media (and especially these Buckeye fools) to tell you that we’ve been steamrolled by them since Harbaugh came aboard. The first game vs OSU, they beat us up and down the field. The last two, we should’ve won outright. The game with the ‘spot’ was the shadiest called game that I’ve ever seen. It wasn’t even ‘the apot’ That whole game was littered with bullshyt calls, and missed calls. Buckeye fans can say what they want, but it is what it is. When you’ve got Notre Dame and MSU fans calling bullshyt.. siding WITH UM, you KNOW some shyt is up.

Last years game was a travesty. If we had ANY sort of QB play, the game would’ve been won rather easily. OSU wasn’t playing well offensively. Our defense showed the fukk up.. until OKorn repeatedly kept missing wide open cats in the secondary. Wide. Open. The D could only hold on for so long. You can’t just have a 2 score lead early against a team like OSU, and rely on the D to shut them out the rest of the way. Our offense killed any possibility of us having a successful year.

This year tho.. that Buckeye ass is gettin grilled

I alluded to that on the podcast, as far as, last game, against osu, the offensive game plan was getting people open, korn couldn’t hit shyt, and it was pissing me off royally, that’s why you can’t possibly put the shyt on jim, he literally can’t go out and throw the ball, and you can work with a qb til the cows come home if it ain’t in him, it never will be, and you can’t just go and pluck a qb and think he’s going to be ready. I will give the buckeyes credit/incredible luck, whoever their recruiting staff is, they have not missed on a qb since tressel took over, and both tressel and urban were smart enough to do what they do well, and let others take care of the rest, i know for a fact tressel was meticulous in preparation,(they talked about his coaching class at osu, it was hard as shyt, think non-jock class, i would have paid to take it, to learn from him) but wasn’t a micro manager, which i think gets jim in trouble, and finally adjustments, both urban and jim suck at adjustments, but urban usually has the higher spades, so rarely does he have to make any, but when he actually has to do some adjustments he nuts up bad, i think jim is more so, stubborn, i saw flashes in the osu game, but none in the psu and MSU game, same on defense as well
